Ragdoll cats are obedient, gentle and submissive. These cats resemble a 'ragdoll' in the sense that they relax and completely fall on the owner, when they are picked up. They have a large muscular body; the weight of the male cat can be up to 20 pounds and the female cat weighs up to 15 pounds. Ragdoll cats come in different colors such as red, blue, cream, chocolate, lilac and seal. They have blue eyes and a soft and velvety coat, which does not lose its shine and hence requires very little maintenance. These cats are distinctly different from other breeds of cat. Great Companions
Ragdoll cats are social, happily spend time in the house of the owner and rarely wander out on their own. They love being with the owner, they yearn for attention and enjoy the company of people. They are meant to be indoor cats due to their laid back and passive nature. They are not aggressive and cannot protect themselves if they are attacked. They lack the street smart ways of other cats. Moreover, they trust people easily, which is why it is very dangerous to leave them without supervision.
